If the Cruise is powered by lead acid batteries, the displayed state of charge (and therefore remaining distance) is estimated from the battery parameters entered during initial motor setup.
Cruise fixed pod motors are the electric motors of choice for sailboats. All Cruise pods are equipped with an integrated GPS with on-board computer and screen displaying the speed and power input, the state of charge and the remaining autonomy. The drive unit is compact, lightweight and low drag thanks to advanced helical gear design. The Cruise 6.0 is a 48 volt, 9.9 horsepower equivalent pod drive perfect for sailboats up to 6 tons.
The Cruise 6.0 FP comes with Torqeedo's advanced communication system, TorqLink, which enables faster and more accurate data sharing between system components. Pair it with your choice of TorqLink joystick ( 1976-00 ) or side-mount sailboat joystick ( 1949-00 ) (sold separately). Motor with the fixed pitch propeller (standard) or choose the optional folding propeller ( 1988-00 ).
TorqLink, Torqeedo's high-tech electronic communication system, originally developed for Deep Blue drives, is now available for Cruise motors, control boxes and Power 48-5000 batteries. All products equipped with the TorqLink system communicate continuously from start-up. A TorqLink gateway (art. no. 2217-00) allows components without TorqLink to be integrated into the system.

The Power 48-5000 lithium battery has a much higher capacity and a much lower weight than conventional lead-acid batteries. In other words, it does not weigh down your boat unnecessarily – and gives you more autonomy and efficiency.
In addition, the electronic components of the Power 48-5000 communicate with the on-board computer,
which means that battery data like e.g. the remaining distance and capacity are always correct.
For dinghies and sailboats up to 3 tons, the thrust of the Cruise 3.0 is more than enough while the Cruise 6.0 pushes 6 tons without difficulty. The Cruise 12.0 propels motor and sailboats up to 10 tons.
